Things are moving fast in 2020, a powerful retro handheld is what we are looking for all the time. The Retroid Pocket 2- an Android Retro Game Console released on the first of this month(August). I believe that you must have heard of the Retroid Pocket retro handheld or PowKiddy A19 before if you are a retro gaming handheld follower.
How’s the configuration?
A Quad-Core Cortex-A7 1.5GHZ CPU and ARM Mali400-MP2 graphics processor should ensure the Retroid Pocket V2 provides a fantastic full HD performance. It features an Android 6.0 dual boot operating system.
Retroid Pocket 2 console has a 3.5” IPS display, it boasts a higher resolution of 640 x 480 than most retro gaming consoles on the market. It surprises me for the frame rate at 60fps, which is hard for almost handheld devices to reach. WiFi and Bluetooth are built-in, network connection supports two players.
What else we can get from its website is the 4000 mAh battery, charging only need 2.5h. It can’t satisfy everyone though, it is indeed a significant tweak. The shell looks superb from the picture attached, it has three colors to opt for, pink, blue and orange, I hope it can accord a good quality.
It has two sets of shoulder buttons, the ZL/ZR parallel with the L/R. The HDMI, Type-C, Volume, and ON/OFF are on the top. All buttons are well-placed. It also equipped 2 analog joysticks with varying height, the left-hand side is higher and another one sits flush with the ABXY and direction pad. The audio jack and SD card slot on the bottom. What I can say is they’re considerate.
What emulation can it run?
The Retroid Pocket 2 Android console can run most emulators like PSP, Dreamcast, and Nintendo 64.
- Gameboy Color
- Gameboy Advance
- PC Engine
- Wonder Swan Color
- Mega Drive
- Super Famicom
Retroid Pocket2 super retro handheld has a competitive rival, RGB10 equipped RK3326 from Pow Kiddy, but the Retroid Pocket V2 has a better showcase and build quality.
Given the reference above, Retroid Pocket 2 console is consummate, I have no bone to pick. It should be one of the best handhelds in 2020, I’m not being hyperbolic, the Retroid Pocket 2 equipped a processor for emulating Dreamcast, N64 and PSP. It’s more attractive to gamers for the price of $80.99. Isn’t it the device you are longing for?
